Cobh Wanderers Football Club

FAI Junior Cup 2nd Round: Cobh Wanderers 3-0 Carrigaline United.

The junior team produced a magnificent performance to dump premier division Carrigaline out of the cup at Old Church Park this morning. Alleo opened the scoring with a strong run from the right wing, into the box and he smashed the ball past the keeper. Walsh in the Cobh goal made two outstanding saves to keep Wanderers ahead, touching the ball onto the post before stopping a point blank effort from six yards out. Donachie doubled the lead with a great solo goal beating defenders at will before finishing in style. Kinsey put the game to bed on 84minutes when he ran onto a superb lob from Donachie before rounding the keeper and slotting the ball to the empty net. This was a superb team performance by the juniors this morning and a sign of good things to come from a very strong squad of players. Special mention must go to Pierce Donachie who had an outstanding game for the Wanderers followed closely by Darren Cronin who gave everything for the cause throughout the game. Well done to all involved today….it was a pleasure to be there.
